Driving west on Philadelphia Street in York, about midway between Beaver St. and Pershing Ave sits an historic (1766) Quaker Meeting House. Have you ever wondered if anything is still going on in there? Here is an opportunity to come and see the Meeting House and to learn more about the faith and practices of the people who still meet there.
On Wednesday, June 16, 2010, 7-8:30pm, or Sunday, June 20, 9:30-11am, you are invited to a presentation: “Who Are the Quakers?” The power point based presentation will include short sketches of some better known historical Quaker figures as well as an overview of what beliefs, faith, and practices sets Quakerism apart from other denominations and sects. Learn more about Quaker worship, decision making, testimonies, queries, and more. A question and answer period will follow.
